The prominent music reggae artiste, Chinagorom Onuoha, popularly known as African China endorses Omoyele Sowore to be the president of Nigeria. In an Instagram post published on the 12th of January, 2019, he admonished the Nigerian youth to make better inputs in the area of politics just like they have made in the area of sport, music, movies and computer apps.
In a country where prominent voices are either silent in political matters or are subtly deployed for the political oppressors, a gesture like this is important to our national politics. This gesture, we hope, will provoke more voices to take more definite stance towards the general elections.
Though one may acknowledge that some artiste are already helpful in the area of voters education and advocacy, one expects that these voices take a step further to endorse Omoyele Sowore. The problem with Nigeria requires a political and/or partisan involvement as standing on the fence only gives strength to the thieving political oppressors.
Before the endorsement by African China, he has made a number of favorable posts earlier. For example, he learned his voice to the campaign demanding the inclusion of Omoyele Sowore for the presidential debate organised by BON and NEDG set to be on January 19, 2019, and also had been on the evening show, On the Couch, with Omoyele Sowore.
In a country where more than 60 million individuals are either without jobs or underemployed, one is sure that all voices are important for the emancipation of the Nigerian people. The call for this emancipation is what the life of Omoyele Sowore is all about. It is what his presidential ambition is about. It is what African China has learned his voice to.
