MY VOTE (Written by John Aiyede)

MY VOTE (Written by John Aiyede)

In his prime and nascent age
When he strides the UNILAG stage
Onslaughts against military stooge
The strikes with the Sahara page
Oh! Sowore
You, I give my vote.
His gems of bravery so rare
Confronting graft anywhere
And the cabals without fear
What a virtue with no peer
Oh! Sowore
You, I give my vote.
How shall light again glimmers
If on our clime it grows dimmer
Even now there is no power
But in this haze his voice glitters
And towers when others cowers
Oh! Sowore
You, I give my vote.
Whom shall we give the crown?
A man of clout not a clown
Who shall wear the noble gown
In this country and floundering town
That we might not further drown
Oh! Sowore
You, I give my vote.
Were voting a thousand miles far
Not once will I baulk or be debar
Were it the filling of a million jars
Neither will I loathe nor be bar
Ilaje and Kiribo has given us a star
Oh! Sowore
You, I give my vote.
A vote for him with all solidarity
It’s a vote for great national possibility
It is a vote for human dignity
It is a vote for accountability
As for me without any polarity
I will vote for this great personality
Oh! Sowore
You, I give my vote
